Meet Roderick Martin
Filmmaker, Photographer, Videographer, Editor, Model
My name is Roderick Martin, and I’m a passionate filmmaker, storyteller, and creative visionary who believes in the power of cinema to inspire, connect, and transform lives. My journey has been anything but linear, shaped by diverse experiences, resilience, and an unwavering love for the arts.
Born and raised in Michigan, I traveled through several schools, each shaping a piece of who I am today from Willow Run Community Schools to Belleville High School, then Woodhaven High School, and finally graduating from Romulus High School. These transitions taught me adaptability, grit, and the importance of finding my own voice amidst change.
After high school, I initially pursued Culinary Arts at Henry Ford College, where I spent two years honing my craft before stepping into the restaurant industry, where I worked for over six years. But deep down, I knew my true passion lived in the world of film, storytelling, and visual creativity. So I made a life-changing decision: I returned to school to follow my creative calling.
I enrolled at Washtenaw Community College (WCC), majoring in Film and Digital Video Production. There, I founded the Motion Picture Society, a film club dedicated to bringing together students passionate about cinema, storytelling, and production. This experience not only ignited my leadership skills but also strengthened my commitment to building communities through art.
In Summer 2024, I proudly transferred to Eastern Michigan University (EMU) to continue my journey in Digital Media Production with a minor in Communication, Media, and Theatre Arts. I am currently an active student employee on campus and will soon become a campus resident, fully immersing myself in the university community and the creative opportunities it offers.
On the side, I founded my own independent startup brand, Rod Martin TV: Film & Media Production, where I am dedicated to creating original film projects, building a creative team, and shaping a career that merges storytelling, media, and entrepreneurship. This is more than just a business—it's the foundation of my future as a filmmaker and creative leader.
Every step of my journey from the kitchen to the camera has been driven by the same core belief. Creativity is limitless, and storytelling can change the world. I am determined to leave my mark in the film industry, to tell stories that matter, and to inspire others along the way.

I made my directorial debut and created The Guilt (2023) later went on and filmed a sequel and working on a part three of the chapter where it may be a little short action franchise and I went to direct, produce, edit write more films after that.
