Trip to Tilicho

A beautiful place located at Khangsar, Manang, Nepal

The bus ride on local bus is not fun-filled. The protracted time for passengers, crowd of passengers like "sinki", complaints of public for not stopping at right place (every house !), losing money bag etc.

A glimpse of Besishahar, our eyes often look for dental things, right ?

After reaching Besishahar, our team is worried to get vehicle to Manang. From here, we should take jeep.

Views are pleasant, but sitting on its back, jeep gave us somersaulting experiences throughout journey. On the way to Marsyangdi hydropower lies the only tunnel way of Nepal.

Reserved jeeps allow the passengers for stopping at places from where pleasant views of waterfalls can be seen and photographed.

In the evening our team reached Chame, the headquarter of district Manang. We got cozy beds and planned for Thorang La pass, too. The morning view was pleasant for the eyes, but not so in amateaur photography of mine.

Bhartang, where three taps welcomed us with chillingly cold water, also showed us the apple orchards. At convincingly cheaper price the incomparable taste was perceived on our tastebuds.

On journey forward, beautiful Mount Swargadwari was on the scene.

Scenic beauties continue to enthrall us, be it the pristine village of Pisang or crafted mountains of Swargadwari or the terrains near Hungde airport or the snow-capped mountains.

Though grass was scarce, the cattle were grazing as if the dusty grounds.

For townies, everything could amaze. The scenes are perfect for cameras but for lives it must have been a tough living there. Scarcity, poverty, health problems and illiteracy must have been dwelling here.

Start: Landslide area

The so called "Landslide area" is one of the dreadful route while traversing Tilicho trek. It starts from a descent at Siru kharka and almost extends up to Tilicho Base Camp (TBC)

Again the landslide-like route continues, furthermore, sudden rise of altitude.

Many of us were already victims of prodromal symptoms of Acute mountain sickness, we continue to rise.

Finally Tilicho !

You may ask about journey backward ......
But after completion of the destination, my answer is

"WHO CARES !"
