Join the Chamber for a tour of the Alps featuring Oktoberfest

This 9-day, 7-night tour includes airfare and accommodations in Innsbruck, Austria. Innsbruck will serve as home base for exploring the Alps and enjoying the world-famous Oktoberfest event.

Day 1: Depart Nashville on your overnight flight to Munich, Germany.

Day 2: Arrive in Germany and be greeted by your Central Holidays tour director. Then take the scenic journey to Innsbruck to check into your hotel that will be your home for the next seven nights. Innsbruck is the capital of Tyrol, the Alpine region of Austria, and has hosted the Winter Olympics twice.

Day 3: Take a city tour of Innsbruck in the morning and see:

  • The Goldenes Daschl or "Golden Roof" which is one of the most famous landmarks in Innsbruck and highlights the city's long history
  • The Innsbruck Imperial Palace, completed in 1500 under the rule of Emperor Maximillian I
  • The Olympic Stadium and ski jumps used in the 1964 and 1972 Winter Olympic Games
  • The gardens of Ambras Castle
  • And more

After an afternoon relaxing or exploring on your own, enjoy a traditional Tyrolean dinner and show with folk music and dancing and a feast of local cuisine.

Day 4: Explore Innsbruck or take an optional excursion to Salzburg. Salzburg has been named a UNESCO World Heritage site and is renowned across the world for its beauty and history. The walking tour will include the baroque old town, Mozart's birthplace, the Cathedral of Salzburg and filming locations for The Sound of Music.

Day 5: Visit Munich and experience Oktoberfest. Munich is known as the beer capital of the world and is home to BMW, the world's fourth-largest glockenspiel, the Munich cathedral and, of course, Oktoberfest. You will experience Oktoberfest and drink and eat like a local with a Bavarian feast and the best beer in the world.

Day 6: Explore Innsbruck or visit Merano, Italy. Today offers a chance to visit the Italian city of Merano. Travel through the Austrian, Swiss and Italian alps for a walking tour of Merano. On the return trip, you will visit the Archeological Museum in Bolzano to see the famous mummy Ötzi who lived about 3,300 B.C.

Day 7: Visit Neuschwanstein Castle. This "fairy-tale" castle, built by King Ludwig II in the late 19th century, served as the inspiration for Disney's Cinderella castle. Afterwards, you will return to Innsbruck for dinner at a traditional local restaurant.

Day 8: Relax in Innsbruck or visit Mittenwald and Garmisch Partenkirchen. Mitenwald, known for its violin-making and traditional wall paintings, was once described as "a living picture book" by German writer Goethe. Garmisch Partenkirchen, originally two independent towns, were forced to unify under Hitler's rule and host the 1936 Olympics. Both towns are full of history, with Partenkirchen dating back to the days of the Roman empire. Day 8 will conclude with a farewell dinner back in Innsbruck.

Day 9: Return to Nashville or continue on with a 3-day tour of Vienna. This optional 3-day tour of Vienna includes a visit to the Benedictine Abbey in Melk and a walking tour of Vienna that will highlight the most important landmarks in the city like:

  • The Ringstrasse
  • The Vienna Opera House
  • St. Stephen's Cathedral
  • Schönbrunn Palace
  • And more

The tour price is $3,499 per person and includes airfare, hotels, meals and day trips. If you book by March 30, you will receive the Mittenwald excursion at no extra cost as well as a $100 discount on the price of the trip.
