From August 28th to September 3rd, students and teachers together exploring Latvia and reflecting on climate changes.
A journey is not just moving from one place to another: it’s a wave of encounters, discoveries, and moments that stay in the heart. Our Erasmus+ in Liepāja, Latvia, brought us a week full of school activities, cultural explorations, and reflections on the environment — the central theme of the Stop Increasing Climate Change on Earth project.

After hours of travel, packing suitcases, laughing, and a bit of exhaustion, we finally set foot in Liepāja, our host city for this Erasmus adventure. The fresh Baltic Sea air greeted us with a mix of curiosity and wonder: new streets, new faces, new stories to share.

On September 28th, we spent an unforgettable day surrounded by nature at Tarzan Park in Liepāja.
Among towering trees and suspended trails, we challenged ourselves with climbing, ziplining, and wobbly bridges.
Nestled in the heart of Baltic greenery, the park offered us a thrilling experience that pushed our limits and brought us closer together. We moved across wooden platforms, faced our fears, and cheered each other on with enthusiasm and team spirit.
Some of us raced ahead, others took it slow—but we all shared laughter, encouragement, and the joy of discovery. It was a day full of movement, connection, and fresh air, and one we’ll carry with us as part of our Erasmus adventure.
On September 29th, we gathered at school in the morning for the presentation of our projects focused on water usage. Each group shared their research, ideas, and creative solutions to promote more sustainable practices within the school environment.

After the presentations on water usage projects at school, on September 29th we had lunch at Maestro, a restaurant that welcomed us with delicious dishes and a warm, friendly atmosphere. It was the perfect occasion to relax and share the moment, but also to discover the local cuisine. We had the chance to taste regional specialties, exploring new flavors and ingredients typical of Latvian culinary tradition.

It was the perfect occasion to relax and share the moment, but also to discover the local cuisine. We had the chance to taste regional specialties, exploring new flavors and ingredients typical of Latvian culinary tradition.
The day ended with a scenic boat ride in Liepāja. As we sailed through the canals and along the coast, we had the chance to admire the city from a different perspective.

On saturday the 30th, we went to the Liepaja Water LTD, an important water services provider on the ventas street, they carefully explained how their system worked and how the water that comes from underground is already drinkable, with the main task being carefully removing the excess iron in it.
Later on, we visited the beautiful church situated in the middle of the village, here we had the chance to hear the biggest pipe organ in all of europe and we also visited the lantern, from which we had an amazing view of everything around us
In the afternoon, we had lesson in school and we analyzed some drinking waters and learned some laboratory techniques, we titulated various types of bottled water and afterwards we had lunch offered by the Latvian parents.
On sunday the 31th we visited Kuldiga, a village right next to Liepaja known for having the widest waterfall in all of Europe, which is part of the UNESCO heritage. We had a great time and did some interesting activities such as river trekking, a tour around the place and some of us even went for a swim in the ice cold water
On monday 1st September, school officially begun in Latvia, we had the priviledge of attending the opening ceremony and we also took part in some lessons, this gave us valuable insights on how school works over there.
In the afternoon we visited the House of Nature, here we saw some curious things right over the little port, and then we went on a boat trip where we had lessons about species living there and we also studied some of the water and bacteria spread across the lake.
On Tuesday the 2nd we visited the Karosta Prison in Liepaja. A guide showed us the inside, where we explored the old cells and learned about the prison's history.
Later on we went to St. Nicholas Orthodox Cathedral, where we explored the inside and admired its beautiful atmosphere.
In the afternoon we took part in an interesting activity called "Escape from the USSR", where we worked together as a team, sneaked past border guards and made our way to a waiting submarine in the shadowy Northern Forts.
In the evening we went to the Drift Arena in Liepāja, where we had the chance to drive and later received our certificates of attendance
On Wednesday the 3rd we travelled back to Catania, bringing home many memories from our experience.
