Ahmed Abdelhalim: Unearthing the Marginalized Voices Through Research and Narrative

Ahmed Abdelhalim is an esteemed writer and researcher from Egypt with a specialization in political sociology, studies related to the human body, and the analysis of punitive practices within Egyptian prisons. In his research and literary endeavors, Abdelhalim skillfully depicts and analyzes societal systems that encapsulate marginalized groups. He offers poignant narratives about the lives of these overlooked individuals, focusing on neglected spaces such as camps, penal institutions, and prisons in Egypt as seen in his works, "Who Owns the Right to Body?" (2022) and "Dancing Bodies" (2021). Additionally, in "Subaltern and Soleiman," he adeptly intertwines the life of a person affiliated with authority into his narrative fabric.

Abdelhalim also endeavors to scrutinize and evaluate recent societal trends, manifestations of body, self, and atmosphere within the Egyptian public sphere. عبد الحليم، يحاول من خلاله نصوصه البحثية والأدبية، التأريخ من أسفل، وصف وتحليل المنظومات التي تحوي الفئات المهمشة، وصف حياة هؤلاء التابعين والمنبوذين. المناطق المُهمّشة، المخيمات والمؤسسات العقابية، السجون في مصر، مثلما أرخ في نصّيه البحثيّ والأدبيّ. أجساد راقصة (2021)، ومن يمتلك حق الجسد (2022). كما يحاول التأريخ وربط حياة التابع بالسُلطة. وفي نصّه الأدبي، (قيد النشر) المعنون بـ"التابع وسُليمان".

كما يحاول رصد وتحليل الممارسات والتمظهرات المُجتمعية، التي طرأت مؤخرا في الساحة المُجتمعية المصرية، الخاصة بالجسد والذات والهُوية، والتي تتشكل عبر منظومات إجتماعية وسياسية واقتصادية، منظومات التقنية والسياسة والنيوليبرالية والعمران.
